The best part about being an artist is finding your own path- but it can be the most difficult part as well. An artist is always exploring uncharted territory and making things that are unique and new. This is exhilarating and exhausting. And sometimes an artist just wants a place of her very own to explore and try new ideas without any pressure. Try a sketchbook!

...if only it was as easy as it sounds. Although many artists have a passionate love affair with their sketchbooks, the magic has always eluded me. I have been trying to find my own sketchbook voice, but I wasn't finding that sketchbook moved my art forward- it wasn't abstract or messy enough. It wasn't "me" enough. I was trying too hard, and trying to make beautiful finished work. In this podcast, I look into what I did to make my sketchbook work for me. Really, it is about finding what works for you and discovering the right feel to your book. I won't pretend that it is easy, but maybe it will spark some idea that works for you.
